Just recently, YOUTH-GEMs took part in the 2025 European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) Conference in Amsterdam — high-level European for brain and mental health research.
Our researchers proudly presented their innovative studies on youth mental health and genetics, contributing to vital discussions on the future of mental health research across Europe.
Bochao Lin presented her poster “Common component and psychiatric disorder: specific polygenic risk score effects on emotional and behavioural trajectories in young people”, based on data from the UK Millennium Cohort Study. Her research explores how genetic risk factors influence emotional and behavioural development across adolescence.
Angelo Arias Magnasco presented the poster “Gene–environment effects on psychotic experiences in adolescents: Insights from the ALSPAC cohort”. This study examines how genetic predispositions interact with environmental factors to shape mental health outcomes during adolescence.
It was a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas, connect with fellow researchers, and showcase how YOUTH-GEMs contributes to advancing understanding of youth mental health across Europe!
