This Science Café was dedicated to ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mental health trajectories’. Noussair Lazrak (part of our work package 7) was invited to update young experts on the use of AI in the app based data collection of Youth-GEMs. Within Youth-GEMs a mobile app will be used to monitor mental health in youth. An AI model is linked to the app in order to predict about someone’s mental health (based on the data collected with the app). Clinicians are involved to check if predictions seem to be accurate. By using fairness, generalisability, explanations and uncertainty, a trustworthy predictive model is now being formed. Several stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers and young experts are constantly co-creating in order to shape and refine the information, (AI) interpretation and visualization of the app.
During this Science Café questions about missing data and data comparison where answered. Young experts could also give their opinion on the possibility of using voice recording in the app. Exciting and promising developments as we are heading towards the finalization of the data collection app!
